This 7-week hand-building ceramics course for kids at our Flushing studio introduces foundational clay techniques in a creative, small-group environment. Students learn basic hand-building methods while creating functional and sculptural projects such as cups, plates, accessories, and small sculptures.

Students are encouraged to explore personal creativity through clay and may also incorporate drawing, painting, or design sketches as part of their creative process. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired by the studio.

What to Know Before You Register

(Kids & Teen 7-Week Courses)

No prior experience is required.

We recommend bringing the following basic items for a comfortable studio experience:

  • Comfortable clothing that can get messy

  • An apron or towel

  • All tools are provided by the studio.

When are the classes held?

Students can choose between Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday sessions.

Each session runs once a week for 7 weeks.

  • No class on July 4. Makeup class will be held on August 22.

How is the class structured?

A fine art–based, multi-week ceramics course

  • Structured weekly curriculum

  • Focus on form, surface, and color

  • Personalized guidance based on each student’s level

  • Suitable for beginners through intermediate students

What is included in the class fee?

All clay, glazes, underglazes, and essential studio equipment are included in the tuition.

No additional materials are required.

How does firing work?

All firings (bisque and glaze) are included in the tuition.

No additional firing fees apply.

Do you offer makeup classes?

Makeup classes must be completed within the same 7-week session and do not carry over to the next session.

Please contact the studio manager to schedule a makeup class.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

  • 7+ days before the first class: Full refund

  • Within 7 days of the first class: 50% refund

  • After the session begins: No refunds or rescheduling permitted

Our Explore Clay, Build Skills, and Develop Creative Ideas

Spring Pottery Program for Teens is a multi-week, studio-based ceramics course designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of working with clay while developing their own creative voice.

Students learn hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab, while exploring form, surface, and color through guided projects. The program emphasizes both technical skill and creative thinking, helping students understand how ideas take shape through process and material.

Classes are structured yet flexible, allowing for personalized guidance based on each student’s level. Whether new to pottery or continuing their practice, students are supported in building confidence, craftsmanship, and a deeper understanding of ceramic art.
