Learn core hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab methods, along with basic glazing and surface design.Create your own ceramic pieces while exploring form and creativity.
Students will learn both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, including centering, opening, pulling, shaping, trimming, pinching, coiling, and slab construction.
The class emphasizes developing strong foundational skills, control, and form, while also exploring creativity through surface design and glazing. A balance of technical fundamentals and creative expression
Learn basic hand-building techniques and make one project of your choice (cup, plate, accessory, sculpture, etc). Class time includes setup and cleaning time.
*Staff will glaze and fire your piece; it is ready in about 2-4 weeks.
Bench time is available for independent practice only and is limited to students enrolled in the Adult 6-Week Course.
Studio access varies by session and availability. Please refer to the weekly schedule on our website or contact the studio manager for current availability.
Firings are 6 cents per cubic inch, covering both bisque and glaze firings, and are paid together at one time.
